- Conducting necessary reviews and decision-making regarding research activities
- Evaluating research activities of academic departments and research centers and conducting annual assessments of the University’s research performance
- Preparing and organizing the University’s research programs, defining objectives, and determining research priorities
- Cooperating with the Vice-Chancellorships for Education, Graduate Studies, and Student Affairs to establish and institutionalize scientific relations with universities and research centers inside and outside the country
- Forecasting annual budgets and requirements and submitting reports to relevant authorities
- Planning for faculty members and doctoral students to benefit from short-term and long-term study opportunities inside and outside the country in accordance with existing regulations
- Supporting faculty members and doctoral students in presenting papers at international congresses and seminars
- Supporting faculty members and graduate students in publishing papers in reputable national and international journals
- Supporting the organization of seminars, congresses, specialized conferences, and training workshops; supervising and implementing all inter-university research contracts and those with other organizations
- Establishing contact with domestic and international institutions to promote scientific cooperation and exchange of research services
- Supervising all research-related affairs of the University and libraries, including acquisition, collection, and accessibility of books, publications, and scientific journals, and facilitating research activities through information databases
